The
HAAKE rheometers characterise a fluid by its
viscous properties and also the elastic properties of the material. They
quantify viscous and elastic behaviour with creep testing - dynamic tests
(oscillation method) - normal force measurements - shear - or stress jumps
- electrorheology - SHRP - high temperature - high pressure.

Controlled
Stress Rheometer
The
RheoStress 1 is a Controlled Stress Rheometer suitable for product
development and QC applications.
The rheometer provides viscoelastic, rotation, oscillation and creep
readings - all the features of a research instrument. The temperature
control system and sensors are initially selected to suit the application
or measuring requirements.

Controlled
Stress Rheometer with Visualisation
The
RheoScope 1 is a unique combination of an optical microscope and
a digital video camera integrated under the temperature controlled
base plate of the universal cone and plate rheometer.
The RheoScope is suitable to analyse phenomena like shear thinning,
dilatancy, thixotropy, aging, emulsification, gelation, dissolvation,
flocculation in products and texture types such as: food pastes
and gels, cosmetics and emulsions, pharmaceuticals, polymer fluids,
bitumen, foams and suspensions.

Extensional
Rheometer
The
Capillary Breakup Extensional Rheometer (CaBER) is the only commercially
available rheometer for measuring extensional properties.
Knowledge of the elongational behaviours of fluids is important
for both industrial and basic research purposes. Complex flows that
contain strong extensional components occur in many industrial processes
and applications. Some examples are extrusion flows, coating flows,
contraction flows and fibre spinning flows. Most material exhibit
very different responses in an extensional flow compared to a shearing
flow. The thinning and breakup of a fluid filament that is analysed
with the CaBER instrument provides valuable information about the
materials physical properties that rotational rheometers simply
can not provide.

OP5 Rheometer
A system for plant optimisation and improved product quality. Measurements certified to ISO 1133 or ASTM D1283 standards.
The function of the OP5 is to make certified measurements of the Melt Index and/or Polydispersity of small solid polymer samples. The primary duty of these measurements is overall control of many types of polymerisation processes. This ensures that the product can be made to specific formulations. The secondary duty is Quality Control in final product selling specification and in batch control. The OP5 is logically situated in the plant analysis laboratory, which ensures best reliability and maintainability for these calibrated, precision measurements. Representative samples are transported from various locations of the polymer manufacturing plant at the call of each analyser. Process Control and QC are full time activities, which require, as a minimum, one sampling point for each analyser.
