Products - Viscometers & Viscotesters

The Thermo Haake Viscotester family defines viscous properties of a fluid at ambient or defined temperatures usually at atmospheric pressure and standard gravity. The rotational viscometer range cover the needs for fast batch controls up to the demanding requirements of QC applications.

Battery Operated Rotational Viscometer

The HAAKE Viscotester 1 plus & 2 plus are quick, exact and reliable battery powered rotational viscometers with one button operation which can be hand-held or operated on a stand. A digital display delivers clear results. These Viscotester models are delivered in a sturdy carrying case as a complete ready-to-use package with 3 measuring systems

During the past decades HAAKE Viscotesters have successfully proven their value wherever quick and reliable tests and comparative measurements are part of daily routine work. They have also been established as standard instruments for quality control. The new generation HAAKE Viscotester 1 plus & 2 plus continues this tradition and fulfils the highest demands regarding design and convenience.

Falling Ball Viscometer

The Falling Ball Viscometer type C accurately measures the viscosity of transparent Newtonian liquids and gases.

The Falling Ball Viscometer is mainly used for low viscous substances such as polymer solutions, solvents, inks, glycerine, gelatine, sugar solutions, oils, and liquid hydrocarbons.

Rotational Viscometers

The HAAKE Viscotester 6 plus & 7 plus units can be used for tests and comparative measurements for quality control according to recognized standards.

The HAAKE Viscotester is a classical rotational viscometer that measures the resistance of a test substance against a pre set speed. The resulting torque or resistance measures the viscosity of the fluid. The higher the torque, the higher the viscosity. Due to the standardized geometry, the shear rates generated can only be de ter mined precisely for Newtonian substances.

The basic ISO 2555 standard describes the design and the characteristic measuring technique of a viscosity measuring instrument (torque, speed, rotor geometry). If a rotational viscometer meets these requirements - as the HAAKE Viscotester 6 plus & 7 plus do - the results comply with the Brookfield method and are 100%-compatible as long as comparable viscometer versions are used.
