The
ViscoScope VS-4450 The ViscoScope electronic VS-4450 is a new development, which utilizes the latest integrated technology available. It is a forward looking development, which has been designed in such a way, that future requirements can easily be added and integrated. Especially in conjunction with our ViscoScope VL-300S sensor, unique customer demands can be accommodated. Safety features, which are part of the integrated system, make applications possible, which could previously not be handled. The integrated safety features also make it possible to cover all ranges and temperature classes with one basic sensor design. The ViscoScope VS-4450 electronic features a 2 times 4-line alphanumeric display. Multiple parameters can be displayed continuously and indicate parameters such as viscosity, process temperature and sensor functionality. Other parameters can be indicated on the other lines or by pushing a button. Further 4 plus 1 LED provide immediate feedback for two user configurable alarms, sensor operation and overall functionality of the electronic. The system features the capability to verify the calibration and functionality of the system in-line. No special calibration fluids are required to accomplish this. The only requirement is, that the sensor is free of any fluid. Once the sensor is considered clean, a menu choice puts the sensor into a self check mode; the calibration and functionality of the sensor will then be indicated on the display. Additionally a PDA (Palm or Pocket PC) or personal computer can be interconnected to the serial interface at the front of the electronic using the VisConfig software. The VisConfig software features menu driven configuration as well as calibration verification of the system. For data collection purposes via a PC compatible computer our ViscoView® software is optionally available. |
The electronic continuously monitors the process temperature and in high process temperature applications also monitors the coil temperature of the sensor. The fast loop PID control system, which controls the sensor, provides a linear response and includes anti wind-up control. In situations where the sensor is potentially at risk, the above features enable us to provide a safe shut down and restart of the sensor.
Using surface mount components provides for a compact design. The standard size can be accommodated by housings, which are available in many choices. The dimensions are 3HE x 21TE and approximately 180 mm deep. The electronic is available for 90 to 265 VAC or 24 V AC/DC operation
Optional multiple analog as well as a serial interface (MODBUS-Protocol) guarantee the connection of the ViscoScope VS-4450 electronics to any process control system, a PC or a recorder. The serial interface automatically switches to the front of the electronics, if the special optional cable is being used. This provides easy access at the front of the electronics for field side configuration and quick data collection via a PC computer or PDA. The front plug also enables factory trained service personal to fully examine the internal operation of the entire system, without even removing the electronics from its housing.
The ViscoScope VS-4550 electronics is compatible with the ViscoScope sensor VA-300 series. It is configured as a 19" rack design and is available in different housing configurations.
