24-27 May, 2011, Melbourne Exhibition Centre

See us at stand number 844 – 18m2 of floor space at Ausplas will be dedicated to displaying the latest products that are of specific interest to all application areas (QA, QC, R&D, and Production) within the polymer industries.

from Optical Control Systems (OCS)
Pellet Size, Shape Distribution (PSSD) – Fully Operational
The pellet analysers (PSSD) belongs to the variety of raw material quality control systems from the OCS product range. As laboratory systems they are used for the quality assurance and quality control of pellets, and as an on-line system it will monitor the polymer quality during the production and improve the process control. The PSSD is a modular inspection system for the analysis and classification of the size and shape of resin. The PSSD possesses various easy to operate options and an abundance of result display options:
• Mosaic view, histogram, distribution cloud, table with size, shape and colour classification and time evolution
• Each variation of the pellets shape, size, diameter, elongation, roundness, roughness and convexity will be recorded in a measurement report to enable future analysis.

Contact us to arrange to have your samples tested on the PSSD unit either during Ausplas or anytime – we welcome the opportunity of discussing your total optical control needs. Read more about this product >

Modular Torque Rheometer with Mixer
The HAAKE PolyLab QC with RheoMix 600 measuring mixer is available as a bench or floor model to best fit into your lab environment. Connected devices like mixers or extruders are automatically recognised through the plug and play software concept.

Mixing, kneading, compounding and plasticising
The mixer test produces a”Rheogram” (torque, melt temperature vs. time at constant speed) and is characteristic for different materials or blends and often used as a “fingerprint” in Quality Control for incoming or outgoing product inspection. Different additives in type and concentration can be measured and quantified objectively through the melting behaviour, consumed energy or melt viscosity (recorded torque). Read more about this product >

Modular Research Grade Rheometer – Fully Operational
Brand new and highjacked from the laboratory facility of Rheology Solutions. The HAAKE MARS III has a high temperature module (up to 400ºC) plus a RheoScope module which combines the advantages of a microscope and a rheometer. Specifically for the polymer industry this rheometer can run polymer melt testing and visualisation up to 300ºC with the RheoScope module and, standard melt testing up to 400ºC. Contact us either during Ausplas or anytime to discuss your mixing, extrusion, and/or rheology needs – we welcome the opportunity of discussing your total material characterisation needs. We will be running polymer samples which will be of interest to QA, QC, R&D and production personnel. Read more about this product >

Twin Screw Extruder
The Thermo Scientific EuroLab 16XL is an extendable, modular, bench top twin-screw extruder for research, development, quality control, and small-scale production. Academic customers are using the EuroLab 16XL twin-screw extruders in research and teaching laboratories, where many different, small samples can be prepared in a short time with minimum product waste. Twin screw extruders are well established in the industry for mixing, compounding and processing of viscous materials. The EuroLab 16mm operates with sample batches of 50 g up to outputs of 10 kg/hr. The bench mounted 16mm twin screw extruder is the heart of a complete compounding and sample preparation system. Read more about this product >
